The house needs a couple of simple updates but we would recommend it for any group of 12-16 looking for a relaxing stay at the lake.That scarred part of the tree will be there forever, sealed off so that the rest of the tree can keep growing. We loved our stay at A Cut Above, the weather was absolutely perfect. There is a large back deck with views of the lake, wetlands and sun rises but the house has no deck furniture so if you want to relax out there you need to bring your own chairs. Both would be too loud if anyone else was up doing anything. With the layout of the house as it is we would not recommend planning to have people sleep in either the great room or game room loft area. The main beds were very comfortable but the pull out bed mattresses need updating.
We had plenty of room in the house and the “all masters” bedrooms were nice to have. The cove isn’t a high traffic area so we had a great time kayaking and paddle boarding. It is a 2-3 min walk down to the boat docks and having 2 slips was a big bonus. Having the par 3 golf right across the street was awesome. The neighborhood and proximity to the lake were great.
